Are Your Listings Suddenly Showing Up In The Wrong Shop Sections?

From here and here:

Amaebi says:
I just noticed that my items have completely rearranged themselves into random shop sections!

RevolvingDork
Etsy Admin says:
Yes, if you refresh the batch sorting page after adding items or changing sections, it’ll move everything off by 1. If you re-submit the page, however, once it’s fully updated, everything should right itself again.

Sounds like since this bug isn’t well-known, several people have gone back through and re-sorted everything by hand. Don’t! Try this first.

EDIT by Soap:
To refresh the batch sorting page, go back to this url:
http://www.etsy.com/sections_batch.php

The first time you do a batch sort there will be other characters appended after “.php”

Having Trouble Ranking Your Featured Items?

In this thread, where people report that the ranking the featured items in your shop feature is not working properly, RD responds:

RevolvingDork
Etsy Admin says:
It may help “clear” things out if you un-feature all of your listings, then re-feature them.

Listing Counters All Caught Up

All view counters are finally caught up!

RevolvingDork
Etsy Admin says:
Simon ran the last of the view catch-ups last night, and now the full view system is in place. This means primarily that ordering listings by view should be much more accurate than it was in the past.

You may see a jump in your views due to the lost ones being added back into place. At this point, there are no more to catch up and the number you see is accurate.

MOVING DAY

UEN is moving has moved to Etsynews.com.

I’m in the process of transferring everything, but you may want to hold off commenting until you see a post at Etsynews.com saying that the move is complete.

Thanks!

Update: The transfer is complete. If you see etsynews.com in your address bar, you’re free to surf, comment, etc. Welcome to the new site!

If you have any problems accessing links on this site, you can manually change old links to new ones like this:

old: http://purplepapaya.net/etsy/1/firstpost/
new: http://etsynews.com/1/firstpost/
(just swap “purplepapaya.net/etsy” for “etsynews.com”)

We have changed links in old posts and comments, but links from external sites will be broken.

A Look at Etsy’s Numbers

In a post this afternoon, the Etsy Garden (official blog) gives an unlabeled graph and some growth numbers:

Etsy has over 250,000 registered members.
Of these 250,000 members, over 50,000 are sellers.

Please visit the original post for the rest.

Another interesting source is Alexa.com.

Etsy Wants Your Ideas for a Redesign of the “Your Bill” Page

From this thread:

Rokali
Etsy Admin says:
I’m working on a new layout of the Your Etsy Bill page, and would be grateful for any suggestions. One idea sent my way by Anda and Mary here was the ability to sort fees by type). Another interesting feature would be the ability to export your bill in some kind of filetype that would allow you to import it into QuickBooks, Quicken or an Excel file (to help with taxes). Please keep your suggestions to layout & functionality.

Update on the White Screen Treasury Connection Problem

The original bug was described here a little over a month ago.

Now Jared adds:

Etsy Admin
jared says:
It’s actually much more complex than I am able to describe here.

If you want to help others out, try not to ’sit’ in the Treasury lobby (the list of all lists) for too long. You’re connection there takes up space and is part of the ‘64′ upper limit.

Notification of Sale Emails Not Being Received

No official comment yet, but there have been several threads in which people say they are not receiving Etsy notifications of sales.

Sources: here, here, and here

EDIT:

In the first post of this thread, RD says:

RevolvingDork
Etsy Admin says:
There generally tend to be a few posts on the bugs forum about users not receiving notification emails.

The email notification system is currently working properly, and all emails are being sent out and received. If you are not receiving emails, and especially if you are receiving some but not others, one of these situations likely applies:

[see thread for complete post]

This list is intended to assist you as a starting point for working out your email issues. If you believe none of the above apply to you, let us know and we’ll do our best to work through it with you.

Based on the number of people having the problem, and the other bug resulting from last night, I'm not convinced it's user error.

EDIT:

And since all of a sudden lots of people are getting their notifications, I think it was probably not user error.

Newly Listed Items Not Appearing in Categories

According to this thread, categories are “frozen” right now, and not showing new listings at all. We’ll update when we have more info.

EDIT:

From this new thread:

RevolvingDork says:
We’re looking into these right now, and should have them rectified shortly. I’ll post again when we figure it out…
Posted at 11:29 am, May 10 2007 EST

EDIT:

RevolvingDork says:
They’re coming back now, and newly listed items should be there. I’ll post again when it’s all done…
Posted at 12:03 pm, May 10 2007 EST

EDIT

RevolvingDork says:
We’re sorted out all of the issues with listings appearing in their categories, and all listings that were not appearing should now be fixed.

Let us know if you’re still having any issues with it!

Maintenance Tonight at 2am EDT

Check the forums for more details, but here’s the meat and potatoes:

RevolvingDork says:

Tonight Haim will be taking the site down for about 30 minutes at 2:00am EDT ( 6:00 GMT ) as he gets the system ready to handle images more efficiently for future growth.
