After spotty uptime throughout its maiden voyage, the Gift Guides have been taken down temporarily for maintenance. Our team will be working hard on getting the code ready for the tens of thousands of folks out there who want to check them out. We’ll get them back online as soon as possible — when we do, we’ll let you know in the Storque!

RD explains in this thread why the Etsy site has been down at times today:
After being unable to access Etsy from our Brooklyn office, we discovered that our service provider is experiencing some issues today. Due to these issues, some users may be unable to access Etsy entirely, depending on their route to our datacenter.
We’ve been in contact with our service provider, and it looks like the issue has been largely resolved.
We apologize for the inconvenience — we’re going to work with them to make sure it stays up.
The Treasury and Chat are momentarily while we do some deep cleaning maintenance.
We expect to bring both features back up by midnight EST (approximately one hour from now).

Hi all,
There have been some database issues today that have been causing problems for those who have attempted to list new items within the last half hour or so. We’ve got the system back into a state where these issues should no longer occur, but we’re going to do some maintenance tonight to prevent it from happening again in the future.
We’ll be taking the site down at 12:00 midnight EDT tonight ( Sunday night ) for approximately 30 minutes.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Yea, sorry about taking the forums down without warning. While we were doing the convos work we found an issue effecting the forums server itself. I pulled the forums down for a bit so we could do a quick hardware fix.Also yes I did try and write up my first post correctly. (Affect, NOT, etc) cause some people were unwilling to let my poor little mistakes slide… ;)

Haim has announced that the convo system will be down for two to three hours tonight, starting at 1 AM EST.
