I don’t think you need to ask permission to use one of their pre-made etsy banners or buttons to add a link on your blog or website. They specifically mde those images for that purpose. I think you need to ask permission to make items on your own with the etsy name or logo, like T-shirts or stickers you want to sell in your shop.

So, um, where do I get my form?? I was just thinking about using an Etsy logo for something…something good of course…no news on that??

You are right. Longevity of using something without the TM or R is worth a lot if challenged. Proof is in documenting how long you have used it vs. the other guy. It is all in who can prove longest use in appropriate way.
I’m just saying using a visible “TM” shores up the protection a bit more and shows intent — and one step further in registering R provides legal protection.
