To compensate for international sellers not being able to enter the contest, Etsy has made a new gift guide.

I think this will only be there for the length of the contest.

To see even more great global finds for kids, just search the tag “intlkids”.

I really don’t get some of the entries…did they jury the entries and categories? Did they even glance at them?!

Yes they were juried- these are the finalists, which I guess mean more people entered than what we see in the voting pages. I didn’t read all the details but I assume admins chose the finalists from out of all items with the contest tag.
The categories are a bit loose though, for example a light switch plate is under “furniture” when I would have though that goes in “Home Decor”.

Oh how nice! Let’s shun our friends across the pond again. No wonder the world hates Americans. Thanks Etsy!

    Ah….diplomacy……

it is indeed an embarrassment and i did comment on it in the storque when the article came out.

i wish wish wish the international gift guide was more heavily promoted for the duration of the competition. i wouldn’t be that impressed with winning gift stuff from etsy (seeing as mine took bloody ages to arrive last time) but getting GG exposure is a valuable commodity
