In this Storque article, jared announces another Etsy server upgrade, this time for the Treasury, Chat and Virtual Labs.
Good news! The Treasury, Chat Rooms, and Virtual Labs are getting a significant server upgrade. The change is being made to address a number of key performance issues caused by record high usage. If the old server was a Honda Insight, the new server is a Tesla Roadster. Yes, it’s quite fast.
In order to make the change, we are temporarily suspending the creation of new Treasury lists. This will allow all the current lists to naturally expire in about three days. After all lists have expired, the server change will take place. The change itself will only take a few moments. If all is successful, the creation of new Treasury lists will once again be enabled, and we can all enjoy the performance boost.
With the current expiration schedule, the server change is looking like it will take place early Sunday morning, August 3rd. The exact time may change.
The Chat Rooms and Virtual Labs will also be moved to the new server at the same time as the Treasury. Both applications will experience about 60 seconds of downtime. All user created Chat Rooms will need to be recreated.

When there is a change at Etsy, I will read it here, where I can find it easily. I am boycotting the newsletter, blog, Storque because:
1. I can’t find the article they are always talking about
2. The article in the link really makes no sense and doesn’t match the topic
3. The article has no start, end or substance, so what’s the point?
4. I really really really hate being referred to a link to read something that I should have been told about in an email announcement that Etsy promised to send all sellers when there is major news to share.
Sorry, Etsy doesn’t have time to communicate? I don’t have time to read and translate their mumbo jumbo no more.
