Etsy has released a new feature that allows you to arrange a listing’s photos after uploading the images. Before, you had to delete the photos and reupload them to change the order. Now each photo has little right and left arrows underneath it, which lets you move them around in any order.

Great - it’s about time the absolutely critical listing process got a few more updates to make it less of a dreary march through a frustrating land of Revolving Dork designed tedium. Normal sites update things like listing pages, so I’m happy that Etsy is acting like a normal site.
Hopefully, this works better than the ranking of featured listings - that particular page has all sorts of strange problems, like items getting ’stuck’ and the arrows for either direction choosing not to work at random times.
This will also save Etsy some bandwidth, because once they have the image, there is no reason to delete it and re-upload it to them just to move it over one slot. It’s a waste of everyones time and resources… Rather than remark about how this is a nice change, unfortunately I’m drawn to note how absurd it has been in the past. Thanks, RD!

Well, I checked it out - that’s nice! Pretty advanced programming for Etsy. We don’t see many slick pages like that on Etsy, for some reason, unlike pretty much every other site that calls themselves ‘web 2.0′ and has 25 programmers…. it seemed like they used to think anything like that just had to be done in Flash.
Hopefully they’ll update the featured listings ranker some day, too. Currently my ‘down’ button is stuck.

yay!
next event on the horizon - some decent batch editing functions so i don’t have to spend my waking hours on Etsy running my business (yes, i do have a business plan and it’s to work smarter not harder and it would be great if my etsy shop allowed me to do that)
little steps

As my dear old daddy would have said, “It’s about damn time”. Now if they’ll do something about making those goofy tags easier to work with and let us put them in our shop sections during the listing process I’ll stand and cheer.

Maybe if they get another 27 million dollars and 60 more employees we can get a listing template - about 3 more years from now.
Have I mentioned lately how much I love this website? http://www.volusion.com/

Terrific “new” feature. I just joined 3 other handmade (only) selling sites and they all have this feature (from the get go) and also let you load up to 7 photos all with one click.
Another advantage of this much needed feature - sellers can FINALLY change the look of their stores by just rearranging photos and their picks for the top selections.
Now, add rearranging items around inside the shop, and you have lots of fresh, new, streamlined and great looking stores. My hopes are this makes it easier for buyers to shop, find what they are looking for, and return for more!
