Etsy is currently down, and some tips report it has been down a few hours (at least). I cannot confirm the exact duration of the downtime. If anyone was using Etsy at the exact time it went down, please post your info.
Edit: The site has been down since at least 12:15am EDT.
Edit: Site is back up approximately 2:30am EST.

I liked it when Etsy had a blog on blogspot, it was always up even when Etsy was down because it was a separate domain.

I believe there are back-up servers…..but they are located with the main servers. If the transmission lines get cut, there isn’t much they can do about that if they don’t have a mirror site elsewhere.

It used to, when Ebay was Etsy’s age. Listings were usually extended for the period of the outage.

They’ve had more issues than normal. I am beginning to wonder what exactly is going on with their servers. Also, there should be a backup server just to let you know what’s going on.. Most large ecommerce sites do something like this.

Retrograde is an astronomy term when certain planets appear to move backward in their motion across the sky. They aren’t really moving backward but it appears they are because we are on a moving object too (Earth) and we pass them sometimes. Like when you’re in a moving car and pass a slower moving car it appears to be moving backwards.
Astrology believes that retrograde motion of planets will cause certain difficulties with communication, technology, etc. Like the way some people think that people get crazier at full moons, etc. Some people think you should never start a business, a new job or a relationship during retrograde.
I pretty much think crazy people will be crazy any old time, and sh*t can break any old time.

Etsy! Please come back! I have to waste twice as much time one other websites to get the same satisfaction, and I hate to go to bed unsatisfied.
I think something MUST be in retrograde. Everybody’s been cranky lately, and now this.
