In this Storque article, Etsy announces that instead of just appearing on the first page of a top category, the Category Showcases will appear on every page.
Dear Sellers,
The Category Showcases now appear on each page when you’re browsing the Top Categories. That means you get more coverage with your Showcase ads than before, since the Category Showcases previously only appeared on the first page. So enjoy and know that buyers will have their eyeballs on your items even more!
Thanks to Halflyng for the heads-up on this change.

as usual, i agree with you. i spent a lot on showcase slots during the holidays. to me, it was more of an investment and research. it was an eye-opener to glean how buyers (do not) shop. personally, i don’t think they helped me, either direct sales, hearts, advertisement generally. i’m willing to throw cash at something for a reasonable return. i just don’t think the showcase is it for my store.

I used to have really good luck with main showcases, but the last few times it’s been duds. I’ve tried the category one (flop), main showcase (worthwhile in the beginning, not now), and the gift guide showcase (semi-worth it although I can’t prove my sales were from there and it was Christmas time). I wish there was a more affordable option in the system :(

Face it, without a referring url tracker in our shops, none of us really have ANY IDEA which advertising is effective and which is useless! Maybe that’s the reason Etsy won’t provide us with trackers. :p
Keep everyone in the dark so they can’t tell poop from ice cream…

Sorry, I meant to say that I’m not sure why anyone would spend that once they realise what the impact of the Showcases really is (ie. very little).
