Wonder why a google search often comes up with an Etsy RSS feed instead of a store? Etsy doesn’t.
RevolvingDork says:
We develop out HTML purposefully without semantic markup, as it keeps it much easier to maintain and build pages more quickly. We haven’t spent much time worrying about how google spiders our pages, but it’s something we may consider investigating in the future.

Thank you for that additional comment, soap. Posters here can feel safe that their IPs and email addresses are kept confidential by editors, as are anonymous tips. However, when someone maliciously impersonates an editor (or two editors!) to damage their reputations, that is a special circumstance.

I just added another editor’s note to the first comment.

That’s a very interesting update about the impostor and the wikipedia vandal, soap.
here is the talk page for that wikipedia editor:

If anyone doesn’t know wikipedia etiquette, you are not supposed to remove sections of articles without listing a reason. To erase sections without a reason is considered vandalism. When anyone edits wikipedia without a registered account, their IP number displays to all viewers.
This IP address appears to be high speed and static, which is a definite indicator that the impostor here was the same person as the wikipedia editor, especially since both events happened on the same day. High speed static IPs are more traceable than dial-up companies like AOL. If the IP number had been AOL, that is almost worthless because AOL IPs are so dynamic, and two or more users on opposite ends of the country might use the same AOL IP number on the same day.

I hope Etsy optimizes the site for Google - free publicity.
