Elizabeth, I’m surprised you didn’t give this any more thought than you did. When you were at purplepapaya, etsy couldn’t touch you, or your content.
Now, the rule of law favors etsy if at any point they don’t like the direction of the blog. They could, without much legal problem, take this site from you. The legal test would be” whether or not a visitor to the website could reasonably be expected to be confused as to the source of the information within this site”.
Yes, they could be confused. This site does not propose to be parody, satire, whistleblower, or in any other way distinguishing itself from etsy.com
PLEASE, seek legal advice before you go any further with this site. Have a lawyer look this over. PLEASE

etsy has known about this site from day 1 and some admins have even posted what a great idea it was. wouldn’t that count for something if a legal dispute came up? If they were going to object to the blog name, I’d think they would have done it when they first found out. Instead they sort of gave it an unofficial blessing, or at least some of their employees did.
