Welcome, thanks for stopping by! This blog will attempt to gather news useful to Etsy.com’s buyers and sellers in one organized, discussion-friendly place.
Please feel free to navigate using the categories and archives you’ll see in the sidebars. As more news is posted, those lists will flesh out.
This site is not affiliated with Etsy except that its authors are sellers and buyers there. We will always provide a source link for each news article, and please rely on the original sources for your business decisions. Comments are very loosely moderated, and the authors and editors of UEN do not make any guarantees about accuracy of statements made in the comments by visitors and guests.
One last thought: If/when an Etsy-sanctioned news and announcements vehicle becomes available, this site may no longer be needed. However, there’d still probably be plenty of room for an unofficial site, since there are a lot of news items that are important to sellers, but that the team doesn’t see fit to publicize. But, if Etsy’s admins did come up with something so perfect that we’re unneeded, then I guess that’s a good thing. At that point, we may continue in a limited capacity, change directions, or be no more! We’ll see, but until then, many thanks for reading.

btw, I added the UEN to the links of Community Resources on the wiki:

I have a question…
why does the logo appear at the bottom of the right column instead of at the top? it’s kind of hidden there and there’s no indication of the name of this blog (UEN) unless you scroll all the way down. unless this is just a mac thing.
and just a thought…
maybe the welcome message should be it’s own link in the side bar so it’s clear to new users what’s what? people who get a link to a particular entry or just see the latest entry may not understand what this is about.
thanks for making the UEN. it really has become priceless. :)

Answers :)
1. The logo is there because that is how the original design went. I will think about moving it, and I will check the screen sizes of our visitors.
2. The welcome message is duplicated and expanded upon in the “About” page, linked in the sidebar:

Do you think more linkage is needed?
